Ancestral Passings
"My child. Your insatiable curiosity of our Gods and Goddesses gives purpose to this old lady."
Many tales were passed down by the eldest to the youngest, for knowledge was enriched by age like a fine wine.
"Then, this night perhaps I will tell you the stories of Ta-Nehisi, who trounced Goddess Armo in a race by using his wiles and not just his feet."
"Or shall I tell you the verses of Pamburu, the undefeated Peacekeeper of the Pramukans, who Raivotar could never dog?"
"But then again, you are but a little girl. Maybe the role model of Awola will enrich your festering sisterly fire, and the tales of her victory against the villainous Viisaus in the ash-grey woods?"
"I see, I see! You want to hear it all! Till the night is old, I will teach you these stories, so that you may pass them down to your children, and so may your children pass these tales down to theirs!"

Location & Country
The Nagan people inhabit the Amazon, one half of the great continent to the north of the world. The tropical climate from directed sunbeams by Oubea's blessing gave rise to a wellspring of life, far richer than the frozen, desolate wasteland of Veturia. A vast number of speciated flora and fauna color the Amazon. However, the greatest blessing of the Amazon was its enclosure -- it was hard to access or attack from the sheltered, oval-shaped cove that led out further north. This treacherous cove, filled with sea stacks on the way inwards, was mountainous by nature. Those who rounded the Northern Continent would have to climb a treacherous cliff or sail a dangerous route inwards the cove through these sea stacks. The other route of entry into the Amazon was through Vindur Canyon, a gorge whose upper-most levels were accessible only from the Amazon's side. Many times, the high-ground was used to defend the Amazon from unaccepting invaders who sought to conquer their people, though has been bypassed in various wars.
Culture & Traditions
The Nagan people foster brotherhood & sisterhood in their communities. They are amongst the kindest and most respectful individuals in the World of Grandeur, particularly due to this culture of love & tradition. They do not take kindly to those who would invade or raid the Amazon of its natural resources, believing that nature is best kept in its natural state, as to respect the wishes of the World. Should it not have meant to be, it would not be their in the first place, is their policy when it comes to the natural order of geography. They hunt for food but are very careful about the balance of the ecosystem. Practices like "mining" for ores, such as the naturally produced Getaran are looked down upon by the community in peace, though the incorporation of it in weapons is far from frowned upon in times of need. In wartime, the Pramukan Tribe (Peacekeepers) will stay and defend the village from attackers, while the Beneramak (Peacemakers) will move out and attack their invaders with unrivaled aggression and savagery. Typically, the Nagans consider an attack to include all civilian and military units, for there is often not a single Nagan who is not capable of self-defense. In wartime, decision-making by the Nagan people are done through a tribal council, heeding the council of the eldest as the highest voice. Thus, when a Nagan tribe or a Nagan-culture influenced people attack, they will not discriminate between that one would perceive as "defenseless", as they believe they should have voiced their concerns when their aggressive counterparts decided to lead the charge. They do not believe in a culture of following the "strongest", but believe in a culture of following the pack. This is derived solely from the fact that most Nagans are trained combatants and there is hardly even a civilian or homemaking class of citizens. The Veturians often call this "savagery", but the Nagan people will attribute this to their people's neglect to take care of their people properly, by not properly arming them with ways to defend themselves. Peace for the Nagans implies times without conflict; it does not mean that fighting is prohibited. The Nagan people are not pacifist; they believe that fighting is wholly necessary in the world that they exist in and that they are at fault if they are not prepared for an invader, as history has taught them time and time again: they are only the holders of the Amazon for as long as they can keep their hands on it, from the prying hands of those who covet its resources.
Tribalbrand [Brand]
The Tribalbrand is a brand grafted onto a Nagan who has come of age, using a special type of oil derived from swamps of the Amazon. This oil drizzles the target's back and petrifies their back. A skilled user of edda will then sacrifice an animal, slitting its neck to coat the stone-formation in its blood. The user will proceed to break the stone-formation and the back will remain with a brand of the deceased animal, while giving them greater access to their abilities. This can be placed on any type of God, though this may cause their abilities to manifest differently; furthermore, they may be inaccessible to a reward from their God from then onwards as a Tribalbrand means that they are aligned with the Amazon's Gods.
Mburujinak [Holiday]
A holiday in celebration of Awanko, Mburudina is roughly translated to the "Taming Hunt", and is a festivity in which Nagans capable of hunting will seek out an animal not for the sake of consumption but for the sake of companionship. Normally, Nagans will bring home a type of panther, jaguar, or leopard. Occasionally, they will bring back a Rembulan-eyed Panther or a Puhuka Leopard. Both of these are shortened to "Rembulan" and "Puhuka" respectively, but are uncommon familiars. Rembulan-eyed Panthers possess crescent-moon-shaped irises while Puhukans have a snow-white fur-coat, as they're a rare group of leopards only found near Vindur Canyon and in caves along Vindur. Puhukans often blend into the surroundings, making them difficult to find. Both of these creatures are capable of wielding edda and are considered higher-breed on the hierarchy. If an individual tames one of these, they have themselves a partner for life, and will greatly please Awanko if they treat them with the respect they deserve.
Whakakeke [Rebel]
Occasionally, a Nagan may dispute the culture or norms of their ways, due to influence from the outside. If pressed too hard, the individual will be labeled 'Whakakeke', or a traitorous rebel to their traditional culture. They are often looked down upon and are most recurring in the Ta-Nehisi people, who rebelled against the wishes of the elders when it came to making peace with the Veturians. Thus, these people were silenced by the tribe. The Ta-Nehisi may sometimes have thoughts that tell them to exterminate the Veturian people and treat them as brutally as they have treated the Amazonians, for they believe sometimes that there is no other way to resolve the conflict and to truly live in peace. Amongst the Ta-Nehisi, the most civil disputes may arise, for some Ta-Nehisi may 'wild out' more than other Ta-Nehisi, constraining relationships amongst brothers and sisters alike.
Opah [Honorable Treatment]
The word for 'honor' in the Nagan tongue is opah. Opah is not the same honor as is exhibited amongst those of Chugoku Tenku. While the Rising & Dragonblessed people believe in the authority of a one-on-one duel, the Nagan people in times of war, will not often accept these battles. Battles are often fought alongside their brothers and sisters and Nagans do not find issue with five Nagans targeting a single person. However, should the battle have been hard-fought and their opponent respectable, they will honor them with a traditional burial, lighting flames around ironwood-branches procured from the trees of Ironwood Forest. Unlike the Veturians, they do not use ironwood for combative purposes, but only use ironwood to process their dead. Nagans also do not believe in slavery and when enemies are captured, they will drug them up into a state of delirium. While delirious, Nagans will attempt to befriend their prisoners of war, leaving them often times too guilty to fight the Nagans after being treated so hospitably under the influence.
Nagan Anatomy
The Nagan Race are unique on Age of Gezo for possessing a triple-joint in their legs. This implies the existence of two knee-caps on their legs, though if the upper-knee were to be destroyed, it would affect their leg power downstream. This grants them two flex-points on their legs. Those trained to deal with traditional kicks will find this incredibly difficult to deal with, as the third-joint is not visibly active at all times. Nagans stand just like any other, but the existence of the third joint can make a snapping or whipping action by their leg harder to predict. One of the favored attacks in Svati, known as the "Wheel Kick", often greatly makes use of the third-joint, by snapping the leg upon the opponent's neck. In martial arts, the ideal axe-kick would descend upon the opponent's neck, as told in real-life Muay Thai. The flexibility required for this is often unattainable for many people; however, the Nagans find this motion to be easily replicable. They are thus, naturally suited to any art involving their legs.
(In the past, Nagans also had a triple-joint in their arm. However, they will be losing their triple-joint from this point onwards [Wipe 7 forward])
