DR Amounts and Meaning
DRs (Death Rewards), represent the amount of influence your character possessed. You are graded on three factors.
1. Your influence on the world around you. (EC Influence / Feats)
2. Your influence on the player characters around you. (PC Influence)
Your influence on the player characters around you, is still an influence on the world around you. Intuitively, one must recognize that influencing a character in one direction or another, can change the course of their own IC, and can make them from protagonist to antagonist, from deuteragonist to protagonist, and so forth. They can side with Arcadia, fall prey to demonkind, or flake and be a vagabond. The interactions our characters build-up with other characters shape the downstream decisions that they'll make, because of these upstream relationships in their pasts. This is how one would hope roleplay is conducted, especially on a massively multiplayer experience.
Goal of DR System
DRs are incentives for you to restart. They give you the opportunity to play a character with a different moveset that was inaccessible without the Death Reward points. This made sure that you could continuously test innovative movesets, and try out "cooler" builds.
How Does The DR System Work
A Head Administrator (DaisukeT / ZenoKuthric) will decide on the range of your amount, based on the Logchecks they've read and based on the influence of your character. They generally have a good understanding of you, as they herald a lot of the PVE experience, as well as mush the main storyline. They will check your logs, read your death roleplay, and see how you behaved yourself during your death. A player who becomes upset and lets their emotions dictate their judgement of the situation may detract from their own value, as other admins will be watching you; you are on a stage for the admins to see what kind of character you hold. It is not to say that personality plays a big factor: it is one of the factors that one should consider.
Once the range is determined, each admin (a minimum of three) will vote on what amount they would like to give you from the range and provide reasoning to the administrative team on their decision.
The administrative team will debate and discuss, especially if your character is of controversy or has contributed much to the storyline.
Ranges can be wider depending on the Head Administrator's certainty of how much you contributed; we like to keep a wide range, because other admins may have seen you in action themselves, and may be able to add more to our understanding of your character as a whole, in case we are forgetful of things, for we all are just human.
